On Monday morning, teams from the neighbouring pegs 5 and 6 occupied the first two places. CT GOODY 77 was leading with 35.30 kilograms, closely followed by CT LOWRANCE – FREE FISH with 33.29 kilograms. Both teams improved their results during the day, but the biggest change came during the night.

A night-time attack on first place

BAKLED TEAM POLAND began the reported 24-hour period with only one carp weighing 22.65 kilograms. Shortly after midnight, however, its attack on first place began. At 1:00 a.m., the team caught a 15.75-kilogram carp at peg 66, followed by another fish weighing 18.92 kilograms at 3:13 a.m. After completing its set of three qualifying fish, the team’s total increased to 57.32 kilograms. In a single night, the Polish team moved from tenth place to the top of the leaderboard and built a 4.60-kilogram lead over second-placed CT GOODY 77.

The battle at the top continues

CT GOODY 77 recorded the highest number of additional qualifying carp. On Monday morning, the team caught a fish weighing 14.95 kilograms, followed by another series of bites in the evening and shortly after midnight. The team gradually recorded carp weighing 11.12, 16.52, 14.05, 13.87, 10.22 and 14.55 kilograms.

However, as only the three heaviest fish count towards the result, the team’s current total is 52.72 kilograms. GOODY 77 may have lost the lead, but it is still less than five kilograms behind the new leader. CT LOWRANCE – FREE FISH holds third place. The team from neighbouring peg 6 added carp weighing 13.37 and 20.05 kilograms during the night, increasing its qualifying total to 46.67 kilograms.

New teams enter the top ten

CARPSONBAITS I also made a significant move. On Tuesday morning, the team added a 20.75-kilogram fish to its earlier 15-kilogram carp and moved into fourth place with a total of 35.75 kilograms. Defending champions EKO BAITS TEAM POLAND, on the other hand, still have only one carp weighing 25.42 kilograms and have dropped from fifth place on Monday morning to eighth.

Waiting for the wind

According to event director Vít Černý, fish activity remained at a similar level during the past 24 hours. Several more carp weighing over 20 kilograms were caught, but none of the new catches crossed the 25-kilogram mark. “Unfortunately, fish activity is currently being slowed by sunny weather and the lack of wind. Once the wind picks up, we expect the number of bites to increase,” says Vít Černý. According to him, the current results do not yet show what Novomlýnská Lake may produce in the coming days. “Only two days have passed since the start, and the teams’ tactics aimed at outsmarting the biggest carp have not yet started to work fully. I believe their time will come towards the end of the week,” he explains.

The biggest surprise of the competition so far is a carp weighing 27.32 kilograms, caught by CT CARSTRADE – CHYTIL on Monday morning. “I was surprised that a carp weighing over 27 kilograms was caught so soon after the start of the competition,” the event director adds.

The total weight is approaching one tonne!

Since 8:00 a.m. on Monday, the marshals have recorded another 23 qualifying carp with a combined weight of 342 kilograms. The competition total has therefore increased to 53 fish and 785 kilograms. The average weight of a catch is 14.81 kilograms.

Ten carp caught so far have crossed the 20-kilogram mark, with two of them also weighing more than 25 kilograms. The heaviest fish of the anniversary edition remains the 27.32-kilogram carp caught by CT CARSTRADE – CHYTIL at peg 33. The competition is therefore still waiting for its first 30-kilogram giant.

Sector 1 still has the highest total weight, with 323 kilograms of qualifying carp recorded so far. However, the new leader is fishing from peg 66 in sector 4. The second 24-hour period of the competition has once again confirmed that the battle remains open across a large part of Novomlýnská Lake.
